Hipodromo Costa Del Sol – Jockeys School – Horse Shows

At the Racecourse it is possible to enjoy of the race meetings during the mornings in winter and in the nights during the summer. Then, the enclosure offers to the visitors another leisure activities like flamenco show after each race, guide visit, children play centre, exhibitions, etc…

Currently the racecourse has a great square of 15.000 m2 with direct view to the tracks and a seating capacity for 2.500 viewers.

In addition, the enclosure has the following facilities:

1.- Boxes
The racecourse has 414 boxes fully equipped, with 12 boxes in the paddock and 80 at the ridding school.

2.- Paddock
The enclosure has a great paddock of 800 m2 where the horses are showed before and after the races. It has 12 covered boxes to saddle the horses with a wide paddock of grass and 8 open air boxes. Also, it has a direct access to the tracks.

3.- Pistas
The racecourse is equipped with two sand tracks. One is external and 1.700 metres long where the races are celebrated and another is internal and 1.600 metres long. Both are 25 metres wide and have a floodlighting for the night race meetings. In addition, the racecourse has a jumping track with a surface of 15.400 m2 where the lessons of the ridding school take place

4.- Betting
There are thirty betting machines in three different areas around the enclosure in order to the visitors can bet.

5.- “Raúl & Samuel Oliva” ridding school
Inside the racecourse, there is a ridding school with more than 100 pupils of all ages that participate in jumping competitions celebrated in our facilities. Some of these pupils have been champions of national and international competitions. The school has 80 boxes fully equipped.

6.- Sports centre
As an addition to sports activities, an eight-lane Olympic Athletics Ground is in the centre of the tracks, including a gymnasium and a grass field. The area also has a seating capacity for one thousand viewers. The athletics ground has been floodlit to allow for the practice of sports at night time and is being used regularly by federated sportsmen and schools. This sport centre is managed by the Town Hall of Mijas like a result of an agreement between the racecourse and the mentioned institution.

7.- Restaurants, bars and pubs
The racecourse has a great variety of restaurants, bars, pubs and terraces of different nationalities, catering for all tastes and budgets. Some of them offer live music during and after the races.

8.- “Rainbow” children’s play centre
Special place for the entertainment of children. The children play centre Rainbow is perfect for birthdays, parties and also for having a fun day. Balls park, jumping, sport track, baby-park (from 0 to 3 years), face painting, coffee bar for parents and lots more.

9.- Residence
Residence hotel with 50 double rooms fully equipped, hall, store and lounge. It is the ideal place for professionals and visitors of the racecourse.

10.- “Juan Carlos Añón” football school
The football school "Juan Carlos Añón" has been opened recently at the racecourse. The main objective of the school is that children practice sport in a natural area and receive academic and sport training for young footballers.The school has a natural grass ground, dress room, training room for the theoretical lessons and videos. Also parking inside the racecourse is available.

11.- Karting Mijas
The circuit of Karting Mijas is situated beside the Costa del Sol Racecourse. It has different types of karts of last generation like adults, juniors or super two-seater. Also there is a member club with a shop for Karting equipment, spares, accessories and wardrobe.The circuit has a route of 970m2 with curves of all type where the entertainment and security are guaranteed.

12.- Great tent-Pavillion
Located at the entrance of the racecourse. It is the ideal place to celebrate all kind of big events. Full equipped and with capacity for 2.500 sitting people for lunch or dinner or lunch, or conferences and congress for 5.000 sitting people. It is possible to separate it in different areas.

13.- Paddel centre
It is under construction. Opening for summer 2012.

14.- Equinotherapy
Centre for the attention of children with a physical or psychical disability, through specific treatment with the horses.

15.- Parking
Free spaces for 1.200 vehicles and a wide area for buses

Opened in 2000 it has quickly grown in popularity and has now become a major attraction on the Costa del Sol.

There is ample free car parking and the entrance fee to the race course is just 7 euros. Being a brand new attraction it has the advantage of being very well planned and organized.

There are 2 x 25m. wide sand tracks, one 1,700m and the other 1,600 as well as an athletics track. There is a 30,000 sq.m. plaza with seating for 2,000 with direct views of the track. In the centre of the race track a full field and track athletics course has been laid out and in addition there is a fully equipped gymnasium, a swimming pool and a hotel.

Mijas race Course also boasts many bars and restaurants catering for all tastes, and live entertainment with many top names visiting the Race Track. The horse races are held every thirty minutes and you get ample opportunity to view the runners and riders in the saddling enclosure and whilst being paraded around the paddock.

It really is a superb day, or evening, out with lots to see and do apart from the races, have a meal, listen to a live band and of course have a flutter with the on course bookies.

Club del Sol heeft 12 uitstekende tennisbanen, bestaande uit 9 nieuwe gravelbanen en 3 plexi-cushion banen.

De club biedt lessen, mix-in games die je de kans geven om te spelen met tegenstanders van vergelijkbaar niveau, of je kan spelen in het dubbelspel tornooi dat begint om 11u elke zondag.
Er zijn ook 4 paddle-tennisbanen, 4 squash-banen, een “high standard” fitnessruimte en kleedruimtes met een sauna en jacuzzi.

De Club biedt alle normen van de tennislessen van beginners tot wedstrijd niveau :
Mini-tennis (Leren slaan en basisvaardigheden op klein formaat tennis velden),
Midi-tennis (Speel op 3/4 maat velden, training op de ontwikkeling van geavanceerde slagen en tactieken),
Geavanceerde tennis (hoge niveau van technische en fysieke programma's voor het ontwikkelen van tornooi level spelers)

Bezoekers kunnen ook genieten van een hapje of een verfrissende cocktail met vrienden op het club terras met uitzicht op de Middellandse zee.

Paardrijden

Op verschillende plaatsen kan je paardrijden of lessen volgen aan een paardenrijschool. De uitstekende weersomstandigheden en een prachtig natuurlijke decor, dit maakt paardrijden een natuurlijke keuze.

Het is een sport die kracht onder controle uitstraalt.

Alpujarra Caballos
