Estepona

Between the mountains and the sea lies the city Estepona. With 21 kilometers of coastline, this site offers many pleasant and beautiful beaches. There are many historical remains found in Estepona as the Clock Tower, Church Sta. María de los Remedios, San Luis Castle and the old fishing harbor. Estepona hasn’t many clubs and discos for night life, but many nice restaurants and bars. There are no great shopping areas in Estepona. You will find rather small cozy shops and many local products.

A 20 minutes drive from Estepona there is a beautiful American safari park Selwo Safari Park.

Estepona

Estepona is located on the west side of the Costa
del Sol. Although the city is right on the coast,
is the largest part of the territory within the
Sierra Bermeja.

The natural beauty of the mountains and the
presence of spruce forests in the highest
portion that has made this place to
nature is explained. Estepona is an important
center for tourism, thanks to its beautiful beaches and array of amenities.

Sights Estepona

A prominent landmark is the "Iglesia de los
Remedios ", other attractions include the
"Torre del Reloj", "Plaza de Toros" (bullfighting),
La Ermita del Calvario (Hermitage) and several houses
or palatial palaces, like that of the Marquis of
Mondejar. In addition there are a number of
archaeological sites from the Roman era.

What to do in Estepona?

Estepona has a beautiful harbor for yachts, where you can enjoy various water sports facilities. Also playing golf a possibility in Estepona. Estepona is also worth a visit during one of the many festivals that are here are numerous. The main Fiesta is the Feria, which takes place in the middle of August.

Shopping in Estepona

Estepona has a large amount of locally produced goods, but next to the Spanish property also much larger and more international brands are located here. The large marina you will find a wide range of nautical stores for boats and other accessories related to the sea. There is also a large shopping center on the side of Marbella in the city where such a large Carrefour supermarket. Parking in the center of the city can be difficult, but the mall is a large parking lot.

Nightlife in Estepona

Estepona has an interesting nightlife that, like Marbella, not his reputation by what you see right when you're in town, but the surprises you get when you visit the backstreets. The city is essentially divided into the port and the immediate vicinity of the center. Instinctively tourists go first to the harbor, where a large selection of bars and restaurants specializing in fresh fish, but also the usual range of international dishes. Most of the action can be found in the back streets of Estepona. There seems to be no end to the number of small bars hidden around the many tight corners. The most popular place is Plaza de los Flores (Flower Square) and you will find a large concentration of bars built around the fountain and garden.

Musea in Estepona

There are several museums, including the municipal museum, an archaeological museum, an ethnographic museum, a museum and a bullfighting museum paleontology (fossils).

Market in Estepona

Every Sunday there is a market in the port where you can get good bargains and good go to for your souvenirs such as leather leather goods, jewelery, arts and crafts etc.

Every Wednesday is "El Rastro", a market is held in the open air on Avenida Juan Carlos. Good for fresh fruit and vegetables, clothing etc.

There is a daily indoor market (Mercado de Abastos). This is held near the castle and the Plaza del Reloj. Here you can buy fresh fish, meat, fruit and vegetables.
