Torremolinos

This very famous resort of the Costa del Sol once was a real 'jetset' destination. Now it still attracts a lot of tourists, but not anymore only the rich and famous people. Walking along the boulevard is still popular. The name Torremolinos (tower windmill) indicates that previously there were a lot of windmills. Now there is only one left, which is now a restaurant. The 6 km long beach offers everything you are looking for during a beachholiday. Nearby is a crocodile park, Aqualand, Sea Life and Tivoli World Theme Park. The Castillo de Colomares should definitely be visited if you are in Malaga. This beautiful castle, which was built as a tribute to Christopher Columbus, is still fairly new. Between 1987 and 1994, it is built by Dr. Stephen Martin. In the district of La Carihuela you will find some more of the authentic character of Torremolinos. There are mostly small fish restaurants, narrow streets and nice shops.
